Nidifica en la Península Antártica, Malvinas, isla de los Estados e Islas del Atlántico Sur, en acantilados cerca del mar en pequeñas colonias. En invierno realizan extensos recorridos migratorios al continente americano. Planeo rápido y ondulante. Ave carroñera y depredadora, muy agresiva. L: 92 Env: 210 cm
