Nidifica de septiembre a marzo en lagunas, lagos y grandes ríos. Va al mar apenas se independiza la cría y pasa el invierno en bahías protegidas o puede migrar hacia el nor-este de Argentina. Buen buceador, duerme flotando y rara vez se lo ve en la orilla, incluso construye sus nidos en el agua. L: 78 cm
Breeds along september and march in lagoons, lakes and broad rivers. It goes to the sea after the breeding season, and during the winter lives in sheltered bays or migrates northwest of Argentine. Excellent diver, sleeps on the water and rarely seen on the shore. Even builds semi-floating nests. L:(31”)
