Resident of the coasts of the Pacific, from Chiloé Island to the south of Tierra del Fuego. Can be recognize because male and female have orange bill and it’s unable to fly, unlike patachonicus . It moves, or “steams”, across the water surface by wing-beats and the propulsión of its legs .L (31”)

Muy parecido a albiventer se diferencia por tener mejillas blancas, notable zona dorsal blanca en plumaje nupcial y párpado azul. Residente de Tierra del Fuego pero al revés que 13 se distribuye mas por aguas del Pacífico. L. 75cm


Very similar to albiventer. It difers for having white cheeks, a conspicuous white match on centre of back (in breeding plumage) and a blue eye. Resident of Tierra del Fuego, unlike 13, it ranges mainly in waters influenced by the Pacific Ocean. L: (30”)
